You have student A, who complete his or her (usually her)’s homework a week prior than it is due. They have had all the information lined up for weeks and now has completed an eight page essay. Now you have student B, who for the week that they could have worked on their assignment have been socializing with friend, working on a number of new skills and enjoying their life. Here student B has experience social, ability and emotional growth, whereas student A has simply learned time management. Along with these three wonderful traits, student B is now in crunch time and will learn how to work quickly and on his or her feet to scramble some bull sh*t to complete the assignment, also a number of quality skills, where student A is sitting at home in front of a window unable to think because there are no assignments needed to be done, this person cannot think for their selves.
And my final point and probably the most convincing comment in this week’s blog is that when student A gets through school with his or her ‘A’, and student B comes out with a ‘C+’ or ‘B’ they will both have the same degree. The only difference is student B will have learned a lot more skills; socializing, abilities, emotional growth, work on their feet, bull sh*ting, all very valuable skills.
So you ask the B-Bopper, are you for realz? Are you going to teach your kids procrastination? My answer to that is absolutely. I have been procrastinating all my life and better for it!!! You may or may not agree with me, but I am right, the facts have shown it.
This week’s B-Boppers Bucket list comment is;
